The health of our local citizens is important not only to each individual’s well-being but also to the overall well-being of our communities. There are numerous valuable healthcare services available locally for local residents and their loved ones, and as the local primary healthcare provider, IU Health is committed to continue providing the highest level of care.
What healthcare services are available at IU Health Jay?
IU Health Jay Hospital has been serving the residents of Jay and surrounding counties for more than 100 years and offers a full range of healthcare services. Also, all of these services are now conveniently located on the same campus as the hospital. Some of these services include: 24-hour emergency care, inpatient medical and progressive care services as well as swing bed, hospice inpatient and respite care, cardiac rehab, Healthy Beginnings for prenatal and postnatal care, laboratory, nutrition counseling, ostomy support, outpatient behavioral health, infusion clinic, cancer center, general surgery, primary care, radiology, physical and occupational therapy, and respiratory therapy along with numerous specialties at the specialty referral clinic including cardiology, endocrinology, ENT, dermatology, podiatry, oncology, neurosurgery, and orthopedics. In addition to these services, screenings are offered, including post-mastectomy fittings, $49 heart scans, $49 lung scans, mammograms, and reduced-price wellness blood draws available on a walk-in basis.
What new providers are at IU Health Jay?
There are multiple new providers seeing patients in Portland at IU Health Jay. Dr. Daniel Livera is the newest primary care provider and sees patients at IU Health Jay Family Practice office (previous office of Dr. Mark Haggenjos). Dr. Jeffrey Barr is a pain management provider specializing in injections and treatments for back pain, neck pain, sciatica and arthritis of the spine, and for arthritis in the knees and hips. He treats patients at the IU Health Jay General Surgery office. Dr. Kevin Doulens is a sports medicine orthopedic surgeon who sees patients at our Specialty Referral Clinic. Tracy Heath, NP has also started with our behavioral health team at its new location on the hospital campus and a new nurse practitioner is scheduled to begin seeing patients this fall at Family First.
What healthcare services are still available at IU Health Blackford?
Although the care model has changed at IU Health Blackford, there are still numerous services offered. These services include: Healthy Beginnings, laboratory collection, physical therapy and occupational therapy, radiology, retail pharmacy, and primary care. In addition, numerous specialties are available in our specialty clinic including surgery, cardiology, neurosurgery, primary care sports medicine, and dermatology. Our behavioral health team also offers Walk-in Wednesdays with a peer recovery coach available on a walk-in basis.
